Releasing the fascia with JFB Myofascial Release

What the heck is Fascia and JFB Myofascial Release?  Glad you asked!

Fascia is a tough connective tissue that goes from your head to your toes in a three dimensional web.

When there is trauma, scar tissue, bad posture or inflammation, there is a binding down of the fascia ( squeezing your web). This creates severe pressure on your nerves, causing pain, numbness, and tingling.

Your blood vessels also experience pressure which causes decreased circulation and discoloration. When the fascial system becomes restricted, it can produce approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch of pressure which can create inflammation, pain, headaches and decreased range of motion.

Skeletal System is less restricted after Myofascial Release

The tightened fascia affects your bones which results in skeletal imbalance and pain in joints. Even your organs suffer and can cause you difficulty with nutritional absorption and elimination.

John F Barnes’ Myofascial Release is a hands-on, loving,  gentle sustained pressure (for 5 min or more) applied to areas that feel tight, stuck, and painful. The 5 minute or more time span allows the body to produce its own natural anti-inflammatory agent, Interleukin 8.

Which part of you feels like beef jerkey?

Dr. A. Pischinger has studied the fascial system for 30 years and in his book, The Extracellular Matrix And Ground Regulation; Basis for a biological Medicine, he shows that the fascia’s extra cellular fluids are called the matrix and are the keys to health.

When your body is in pain, and it’s difficult to move, it might feel like parts of you are dry beef jerky instead of a juicy piece of meat. ->->->

What’s so cool about this treatment is that emotions are also addressed because emotions get stuck in the tight areas of our bodies. Remember our grandmothers used to say, “My stomach is in knots”. They were experiencing the binding down of the fascia. Past traumas are held within our bodies. In the book, Healing Ancient Wounds, John F Barnes says, “Memories that were never fully felt solidify in our bodies”. He also goes on to say, “A voluminous amount of research is now stating that disease begins in the ground substance of the fascial system as a thwarted inflammatory response”.
