As I sit down to write the last blog post of 2020, I realized my goal for this year was to guide you into your own path towards Self Care/Self Love.

Why? Because it has been proven that the more energy you put into yourself the better the world will be. Here’s Dr. David Hawkins, author of Power vs Force:

“In this interconnected universe, every improvement we make in our private world improves the world at large for everyone. We all float on the collective level of consciousness of mankind, so that any increment we add comes back to us. We all add to our common buoyancy by our efforts to benefit life. It is a scientific fact that what is good for you is good for me”.

You may be asking: How do I care and love myself? And, how do I know what is good for me?

Try these simple ways like walking (Physical), learning something new (Intellectual), allowing yourself to feel (Emotional), and connecting to a higher power (Spiritual). I share these and more in my book, The Power of Self Care Self Love: A Physical Therapist’s Guide to Evolving Into Your Higher Self.

I Give Myself Permission to Care for and Love Myself

Does that sentence seem foreign to you or ridiculous when you read it? Years ago it was foreign and ridiculous to me but, it has changed my life for the better. I say this sentence every night before I go to sleep, “I give myself permission to care for and love myself”. Sometimes I say it 10 times to make sure I’m listening!

For most people, it’s so easy to care and love others. However, when it comes to pouring care and love into ourselves there are 1000 excuses. “I don’t have time” is our favorite excuse.

What would it be like if you removed that one excuse and did what was good for you?

Would you sleep better? Feel better? Look better?

You know, like putting the oxygen mask on your face before putting it on the child’s next to you? That way you save your life AND theirs.

2020 was a doozy BUT, you survived! And you will continue to not only survive but thrive!

You’re evolving into your next stanza, dear friend. Your creativity will guide you and you will flourish!
